Mont St Michel Routes and "Miquelots"
Several million people like and take part in long distance walking and thus potential Mont-Saint-Michel Walkers, or ‘Miquelots’. The project also helps those searching for meaning in life and for their heritage, as well as the opportunity to discover regional variety through sustainable development (awareness of the environment, the quality of locally sourced products…)
In addition to the major role played by Mont-Saint-Michel – known as La Merveille – in the local economy, the association, founded in 1998, has identified and opened 3,500 km of trails through the countryside in Normandy and western France, avoiding tourist hubs |
